Call for New OceanGliders Steering Team Members
Want to help shape the future of global ocean glider observations? The OceanGliders Steering Team provides scientific leadership for the programme and connects it to the wider GOOS ecosystem. We're looking for new members to bring fresh perspectives, regional expertise, and scientific vision — new appointments will take effect in Fall 2026.
We especially welcome applications from researchers in South and East Asia, Africa, and South America, from early career scientists (within 10 years of their most recent degree), and from anyone who can help broaden the representativeness and diversity of the team.
Questions? Contact Filipa Carvalho or Robert Todd .
Applications close 31 July 2026.

Call for New and Existing Task Teams
OceanGliders Task Teams bring people together around a shared focus — whether that's science, applications, or community best practices. Science themes like climate, carbon, ocean health, circulation, and extreme events are natural starting points, but teams can also tackle data standards, sensor technology, regional coordination, or any topic the community should be working on together.
Before applying, check the Task Teams page to see if your idea already aligns with an existing team — if so, reach out to the leads directly. Both new proposals and updates from existing Task Teams are submitted through the same form.
General Task Team related questions? Contact Filipa Carvalho or Robert Todd .
Applications close 31 July 2026.
